Lifestyle Changes For Clearer Skin

When most people think about acne and all the hassles that come with it, it’s only natural to be thinking about the best ways to treat it and get some control. Everyone has a different idea of what works and what doesn’t, and you may not have found what’s going to work best for you yet.

You can walk into a corner drugstore and find entire aisles devoted to various creams, lotions, cleansers, and gels that claim to provide an effective, quick remedy for acne.

You should take these claims lightly, though. Very rarely do they work as well as they claim. Some of these over the counter preparations can even make your acne worse, or cause an allergic reaction in those with sensitive skin.

If you want a surefire way to reduce or eliminate your acne, you should adopt a proactive approach. Educate yourself. Finding out what brings on a breakout, as well as other acne triggers should give you a clear idea of what works for you.

Other times you may just have to test something out, and see for yourself if it suits your skin. Sadly, acne treatment hasn’t been hammered down to an exact science yet.

Whatever you do, and no matter how tempting it seems, you should never pop your pimples. We’re all guilty of it, but even if they have “come to a head”, leave them alone! Twice a day, cleanse your face with a mild cleanser.

Wash in a gentle circular motion, and when you’re done, rinse well and pat dry. Rubbing or other rough treatment can make acne worse and spread pimples to other areas.

If you are fed up with conventional and prescription acne treatments, and you’ve even tried the latest herbal remedies with no success, you may need to take a new approach.

If you have an especially stubborn case of acne, you’ve probably already tried almost every available treatment with no luck.

To clear up your severe acne once and for all, you need a complete lifestyle change. Clear skin starts from the inside. Try changing your diet. Oil, found within some of the more greasy foods can be a big acne trigger. Fried foods are also known to aggravate acne in some people.

The oil feeds the sebaceous glands, stimulating them excessively and making your skin much more oily. However, there is a oil balance your skin needs to maintain, that’s beneficial to the skin. Without, your skin would end up rough, flaky and completely dried out.

Omega fatty acids, like those found in fish and avocados, are a more healthy alternative to fried foods, to help balance your oil production out. Also, eating a diet rich in leafy greens, other veggies, and fruits will help to detoxify the entire body, thus clearing up your acne.

Getting rid of acne isn’t just about what you put on your face. If you do your best to purify and cleanse your body by limiting the amount of greasy and processed foods you eat, your efforts will be shown in the form of clearer skin.

After all, the most important factor of an effective acne treatment starts on the inside; what you apply to your skin can only do so much.
