Preventing Acne While You Sleep

An average individual spends 6 to 8 hours a night in bed. Take advantage of the time and prevent acne while you sleep. Anyone experiencing acne problems can use this information to help control or get rid of it.

Since it can happen to anyone and at any age, knowing extra preventive measures to reduce the chances of an outbreak is a good thing. Good get-ready-to-sleep habits need to be consistent and maintainable.

Before you go to sleep make sure you clean your face with a mild soap or prescribed cleanser that may have given you by your dermatologist. Do any other necessary facial treatment you need to.

Don’t forget to apply toner or a facial cream; these help tighten skin and close pores. This helps dust and environmental agents from getting under your skin.

Change all your bedding regularly. This includes bed sheets, blankets, and especially pillowcases. While you sleep, oil from your face gets and stays on the pillow.

Meanwhile, dust and dirt also land and stay on the pillow and sheets while you are away.

The face has the most contact with the pillow so the concern is that if bacteria start to multiply, acne will show up and start forming, too. This is not preventing acne while you sleep.

Every once in a while apply a nighttime face mask before going to sleep. This will help remove any dirt trapped in your skin pores. If you apply a face mask after your ritual face washing, you will have a more effective campaign with preventing acne while you sleep.

A face mask, occasionally, helps to nourish your skin and will keep it healthy, clear of acne, and looking good.

Treatment and prevention of acne should not just be done when a breakout occurs. By the time you notice a problem, it’s too late and now you have to act defensively. The best defense is a good offense, even in skin care.

So, prevent acne while you sleep and show you have the discipline to keep it in order for all of your life. Don’t be lazy, be a little crazy. Care how your skin looks, get on a normal acne treatment schedule and prevent future ones from happening.
